I received a lot of mail after I wrote the article ‘Get Rich on the Net’. People complained that the article did not have practical tips! I thought it was full of practical tips but I guess most people would like me to spell out things in Black and White. O.K. here is the stuff that can make you money. You got to, of course, do it yourself. I can’t do it for you. That would not really be possible or practical!
In this article , I will discuss on the rudimentary outline on how to develop a stream of income through Google adSense and adWords opportunity and through affiliate programs. It will require some effort on your part but I promise you , you will make decent money , if your keep at it and make the effort. This is an easy way to create a part time job and to work from home.

Let us get to the big boys …. Guys and gals who want to make serious money say USD 20 to USD 100 a day. This will require some more practical thinking. You must read the article ‘Get Rich on the Net’ carefully , especially the part about the adSense and adWords program to make use of the practical suggestions , I am now going to give.

The net has billions of consumers and millions of websites. But most websites are full of nonsense and useless. So how do we leverage this fact to make money?

Get hold of some information or service or product that is useful. It does not have to be a hot new idea. A hot new idea may make millions but we only want USD 20 to USD 100 a day …Right? This information may be as simple as: How to maintain a garden? Or How to increase the fuel efficiency of a car? Or How to paint? Or something just as simple in which you have some specialized knowledge or can find it, maybe music knowledge, book reviews etc etc . Get a few of these bits of information together and put it up on the net. Create a practical website where people gain some free information. Put up advertisements on the site and people will automatically check them out to find more information. You will then start to make money. Easy isn’t it?

First:
Register a Domain. Domain registration is the first practical thing to be done before you can put up a website. These days there are very cheap domains available for as little as USD 5 to USD 15 a year. Block a good descriptive name such as: mysupergarden.com ( if it has not already been taken by some one else. This is only an example) You may also consider .org or .net or .in or .pk or .us etc as a alternative although dot com is still the most popular domain registration. Explore websites offering this service. Read the fine print. Some offer registration free for one year, so go for it. It is hardly an expense and gives you a foothold on the web. A foothold so necessary, to working from home.

Second:
Buy or block some space on some good internet server to host your website. You have to put up your website on some server (computer) connected on the net so you need some space on hire. Most cost as low as USD 20 to USD 150 a year for space as large as 10 Mb to 250 Mb. To start with you need only 10 Mb so go for it. USD 20 in your local currency is certainly low and affordable by everyone. A good hosting server is essential for setting up a good website that stays up all the time. You need to consider the following issues before you pick space from a Web Hosting agency.
Are their servers Windows or Linux based? I suggest Linux. The software is free and very popular for web developers.
What is the maximum bandwidth they allow for the hosting package you want to buy? When someone views your website, data gets transferred between his computer and your server. This costs money and is dependent upon the allowed bandwidth. Make sure you have 250- 500 Mb bandwidth to start with, so that your site does not choke.
Can the web hosting agency offer a database facility? Say Mysql ( for Linux) . This is required for websites who have lot of data like hundreds kinds of seeds for our mysupergarden.com website and want to display same in a dynamic mode. This is not really needed for a static website which has only a few web pages displaying a few pictures and information.
Check out different web hosting packages. Some servers offer free hosting for a while so grab it as a trial. What have you to lose? Nothing really.

Third:
Get the basic idea of a website say mysupergarden.com mapped out. Be clear as to what you want to put in it. Some suggestions could be:
One page could have tips on gardening
The second page could have information and use of different gardening instruments
Third page could talk about different kinds of manures.
And lastly you could give tips about different seasonal flowers.

Fourth:
Get some one to make your website and put it up on the net. There are many free tools available and you can also do it yourself. But to get the professional look, pay some one. A company in India will do it for USD 100 or less while in the United States it could cost up to USD 500 . As the internet is borderless, go for the cheaper option.

Fifth:
Get the website approved by google , yahoo , msn and other big names by submitting it free to them. It may take a month or more for it to be crawled. Once it is crawled by one search engine, the rest will also crawl it quickly and put it in their database. Go to the google or yahoo or msn web site to find the free submission link.

Sixth:
Now register for the google adSense program and google adWords program simultaneously. This is free! Put up the google adSense code on your different pages of the website and check out the targeted advertisements that appear. Google will automatically put relevant targeted advertisements related to the content of your website. As visitors click on these advertisements or banners ( through affiliate programs). You will start making money. Seek more information by exploring various money making opportunities and grab money making tips and apply them for free on your website. The money making possibility is in making optimum use of the opportunity provided by google adSense. All you need is a high quality website and traffic. In order to succeed you need to be well read and apply a little common sense. Google adSense is for getting advertisements while adWords is used to get people to your site. So both are important for you . Never miss a chance to get free money making information.

Seventh:
Drive traffic to your website by using the google adWords program or register at a cheap affiliate marketing company as a Merchant. Submit your sites to various relevant directories and generate traffic. Link exchanges with similar websites can also help in generating traffic. You can normally buy quality traffic for as little as USD 50 at places like affiliate curry or click galore etc. Again, I will request you to register for free at Google adSense , adWords, relevant blogs and and read up as much free information you can find.

Eight:

Study the advertisement conversion rates and check the money rolling in. As people visit your site and find stuff they like and need they will click advertisements to seek more information or products that they need. This will generate money for you. Register at some good affiliate programs and put up relevant banners at your site. Most of these registrations are free! These can also make you serious money as your internet traffic increases. Learn internet marketing tips from websites advertising the google programs and boasting how they make millions of dollars. Grab their ideas, use common sense and get going.

In conclusion, on an investment of approximately USD 35 a year and a one time fixed cost of developing the site at USD 100, you could potentially be earning USD 20 to USD 100 a day! The internet is full of opportunities, just find your niche and get a steady stream of income. So get to work and create a part-time job for yourself that will enable you to work from home.

My friend asked me the other day: “How do I make money on the net? “. "I want a part time job and I want to work from home."

I told him: “Find a product or service and sell it at a huge profit without a middleman reaching out to the direct consumer and make a ton of money “ .
“But I don’t have a service or product, can I still make some money?”
That got me thinking.

The net is a huge market place and contrary to perception, nothing is truly free. One may get a few samples (a few articles, some video or song, some information) free but for tasting the real thing; one has to pay, just like a physical market place. How can I make money without anything to sell? As I thought a bit , I realized that there is one crucial difference in this virtual market place and the real physical market , in that, both the seller and the buyer is faceless and the market is huge , almost the whole world. There must be a few legitimate ways to make some money, I thought. After all the market is the world and the number of consumers is in billions. There must be a way to work from home, as a part time job and make decent money.

What can be my role? What can I contribute or offer for sale?
What is my profile?

I am a consumer and a potential buyer on the net. I can also do some web marketing and am reasonably well educated. I can work part time from home and would be happy with any kind of decent work or job.

Can I make money answering surveys and filling up questionnaires? *** Low Value Job.

After all I am a consumer and my opinions and habits may reflect a cross section of people. I went looking and realized that yes! I can make money answering questions. There are a few legitimate sites (PR / Advertising agencies and net test marketing agencies) like globaltestmarket.com that are legitimate and offer cash or credit for taking targeted surveys and answering questions .But most of them are scams. When ever a site asks you to buy a membership – beware. Whenever something is being offered free – beware of a catch. Read the fine print. But the amount of money promised and actually paid is very different. Maybe I did not get the right guys. Try with a few sites and see the response . Keep trying and you may hit the mother lode. But I think, the guys offering paid surveys made more money than me! However, I do feel that one must at least try once. As they say , nothing ventured , nothing gained. So explore the opportunities that exist and try your luck. Check the response from various websites and keep your eyes and ears open. This gives much needed free information .
Screen out the websites asking for money and go with the ones offering surveys on behalf of well known brand names in the world. Make sure you are eligible for taking the survey. It may be important to live in a certain physical location to be eligible.

Can I make money doing desktop jobs and punching data at home? *** Low paying job

Yes, some companies offer this service. It is legitimate, but pick the right company or be prepared to work for free. I suggest visiting some discussion forums and checking out the information available and the experiences of various people, who have gone through the process, to come to any conclusion. Try to understand the type of work offered by various companies. Explore and use common sense to get the best work possible. Do not be satisfied with low value work. Normally more complicated the work , higher the payment. The kind of part time job most of these companies offer may not satisfy all, so keep exploring and you may find something good.
You desperately want typing work? Why don’t you tie up with companies willing to pay for transcription or back process work? Look for offers on the net for companies who are offering such kind of work. Explore opportunities for high value work and pick and choose the ones that can offer value added typing work. Many companies in India, Europe and U.S.A. offer this kind of work so keep exploring.

Can I make money expressing my opinion and thoughts? *** High Ideas

Blogs are written on almost every conceivable subject. Anyone can write blogs but advice given in blogs is free and who will pay to listen to your comments or thoughts whatever they may be. But there is a way to monetize these blogs and for this we need to understand the Google adSense program. Google has revolutionized the way, advertising is done on the net and they are willing to spread the money if you qualify! As you may know, Google has a revenue stream in billions of dollars and we can share in this bonanza.

There are a few free servers also where you can blog and add ad sense code to make money. But you may have to share your revenue with the provider.
A better way is to add the adSense program to an existing website and generate revenue from existing viewers. This is a quick way to monetize the traffic on your website. In trying to look for an answer, I enrolled in one of the many websites offering adSense education and tips for free! Keeping in mind that nothing is free , I was sceptical , but went ahead anyway. I was glad I did, because I learnt things about the adSense program that were quite astounding. Without paying a cent, I got many tips for free . May I suggest that anyone who want to make some money and understand the twists and turns of this program that can make a ton of money , understand the program in detail and also make an effort to get to the hidden nuances and opportunities. If you play it smart, you may learn a lot without paying anything to various companies. If you are tempted to go for their paid stuff, well that is your luck and inclination. The only issue, of concern is that google does not encourage such targeted websites and one has to a little careful. Some of the popular ones are forex enterprises, theadsensejerk, googleprofits, adsense-secets and many more. They just ask for a email and send you information that is useful. All of them speak of making huge amounts of money daily. But be realistic! . Even if you are able to make USD 10- 15 a day , it should provide a decent side stream of income. Use some common sense and reasonable logical thinking and you could be making some serious money. Best of luck.

Can I sell some product that does not belong to me and use my marketing skills to make money ?

This question brings us to the affiliate programs on offer . There are many companies with products which are not selling well on the internet and they would be happy to share some profit with you if you help them sell it . Or the products may already be bestsellers and if you wish to partake of the profits, you may enroll in an affiliate program. Generally bestsellers will offer lower profit sharing (commissions) than slow sellers. This is quite obvious to any reasonable thinker.
The issue of affiliate programs is quite legitimate and is ideal for any person who does not have a personal product or service to sell. I suggest browsing through the websites of reputable companies and finding out if they have an affiliate program to offer. The commissions may be slightly lower, but legitimacy is important on the net. So go for it. There are many websites offering hundreds of legitimate and not so legitimate programs for a fee, which may be avoided. If you are tempted by the hot selling promise, go ahead and try your hand.

How do I sell a product or a service which I get on enrolling in an affiliate program?

You can sell a product or a service defined under an affiliate program by generating traffic to your webpage with the affiliate product / service well advertised and hope for some sales. Seems a little iffy, does it not? Not really. Because we have a very powerful tool from google called the adwords program which we can use effectively in this situation.

You guessed it! Just as you get to display free advertisements under the google adsense program, you turn the other cheek in the adwords program. Here you pay google to display your targeted advertisements on sites that have visitors interested in your product. You induce clicks and pay only for legitimate clicks which brings an interested and hopefully a paying customer to your website (page) displaying your affiliate product or service. He is already an interested person as otherwise; he would not have come to your website (page). Now it is time to convert this interested customer into a paid customer and grab your commissions. At times, even, a one in ten, conversion ratio will be profitable. You need to calculate the difference in the cost of advertising and commissions payable on a sale, to work out the best combinations. Here again , there is a lot of free information available about the adsense/adwords program. The various free tips available with different companies can change your business completely. Do also read the adwords program in detail on the google website to gain an in-depth knowledge. Go for a dual strategy: Get free advice from the companies (promising to make you rich) and get independent confirmation from google. This investment of your time will be very useful in the long term. It will help you create and manage that dream part time job working from home.

I have given the basic outline of the various ways you can make money on the net. Now it is up to you to take the first step and read in detail, research and plunge ahead. With a little luck, you might generate a good continuous stream of income on the side, which can be quite useful. It may not make you rich but with a little luck and good planning, it will definitely leave you better off.

Go get Rich.. Just be careful that you don’t lose it all, because you were stupid or too greedy.
